New Delhi, June 22 (ANI) — Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization (AEOI) has confirmed targeted attacks on several of its nuclear facilities, including Natanz, Isfahan and Fordow. As a result of it tensions in the middle East is increased further. The AEOI labeled these attacks as a direct violation of international law, asserting that such actions will not halt the progress of Iran’s nuclear industry.

According to a statement shared by Iranian Embassy in India, AEOI stated that the nuclear sites were subjected to what it described as “savage aggression” early Sunday morning. The statement emphasized that the assaults breached multiple international legal frameworks, most notably the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
AEOI Declaration
The AEOI declared: “This action, which violates international regulations, unfortunately took place under the indifference, and even complicity, of the International Atomic energy Agency (IAEA)”
According to the statement, the United States has claimed responsibility for the strikes, as acknowledged through public statements by President Donald Trump. Iran maintains that all its nuclear sites are under constant surveillance and verification by the IAEA as per the Safeguards Agreement and NPT obligations.
Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization
The Iranian Atomic Energy Organization has called on the international community to strongly condemn the attacks and to defend Iran’s legal rights. It reiterated its commitment to continue developing its nuclear capabilities despite mounting pressure and foreign interventions.
“Despite the malicious plots of its enemies, with the dedication of thousands of revolutionary and motivated scientists and experts, [Iran] will not allow the development of this national industry – built on the blood of nuclear martyrs – to be halted,” the statement affirmed.

In response to the incident, the IAEA stated that there were no immediate reports of increased off-sites radiation level at the affected locations.
“Following attacks on three nuclear sites in Iran – including Fordow – the IAEA can confirm that no increase in off-sites radiations levels has been reported as of this time,” the agency posted on social media, promising further assessments as the situation evolves.
Operation Rising Lion
The attacks come as part of a broader escalation in hostilities between Iran and Israel, which began on June 13 when Israel launched “Operation Rising Lion” a large-scale airstrike campaign targeting Iranian military and nuclear infrastructure. Iran retaliated with “Operation True Promise 3,” a major drone and missile offensive targeting Israeli energy and military installations.
The United States has now formally entered the conflict in support of Israel, with President Trump announcing “massive precision” strikes and warning of further retaliation if peace is not restored.
Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed the U.S. intervention, calling the military action a “bold decision” that would “change history.”
As the conflict enters its ninth day, the region remains on high alert, with global powers closely watching developments that could have far-reaching consequences for regional and international stability.
