Pakistan has stepped forward in Middle East Tension, as a vocal advocate for de-escalation and peaceful dialogue. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif engaged in a series of high- level diplomatic calls and meetings on Tuesday, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and stability.

Iran-Israel Crisis Cause Middle East Tension
Taking a step forward, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif spoke with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman over the phone. Both leaders discussed the escalating Middle East tension, particularly the intensifying Iran-Israel conflict.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized Pakistan’s support for immediate de-escalation and resolution through diplomacy and dialogue. He called for strict adherence to international law and the UN Charter, especially in the light of the recent attacks in the region.
He also reassured Pakistan’s unwavering support for Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. In response, the Crown Prince appreciated Pakistan’s solidarity and recognized its positive role in promoting a peaceful resolution.

Pakistan Reaffirms Ties with Iran
In another crucial diplomatic engagement, PM Shehbaz held a phone call with Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian. He reiterated Pakistan’s support for Iran at all diplomatic forums, including the United Nations Security Council and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
PM Shehbaz stressed that Pakistan was closely monitoring the situation and believed that peace could only be restored through dialogue and diplomacy. President Pezeshkian appreciated Pakistan’s consistent and principled support, acknowledging Islamabad’s role in pushing for a peaceful resolution.
The two leaders agreed on the urgent need for unity in the Muslim Ummah during this difficult time and committed to stating in close contact.
China’s Response on Middle East Tension
In Islamabad, PM Shehbaz met with Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong to discuss the ongoing crisis. The ambassador praised Pakistan’s proactive diplomatic role at the UN Security Council and other forums.
The meeting also highlighted the long-standing Pakistan-China “All Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.” PM Shehbaz reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to strengthening economic ties, especially through the timely implementation of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects.
Ambassador Jiang also reiterated Beijing’s support for regional peace and expressed confidence in Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts.
Bilateral Consultations with Saudi and Qatari Ambassadors
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also held separate meetings with the ambassadors of Saudi Arabia and Qatar. The discussions centered on the worsening Middle East Tension, particularly after Iran’s missile attack on the U.S. AI Udeid Air Base in Qatar.
PM Shehbaz reaffirmed Pakistan’s solidarity with the people of Saudi Arabia and Qatar. He restated that diplomacy must remain the primary tool for resolving conflicts and securing long-term peace in the region.
